What are the advantages of the Jill fire basket?

Besides warmth, a fire bowl or fire basket offers the necessary fun and cosiness. The fire literally and figuratively brightens up a lovely evening or afternoon. Not only during long summer evenings is a fire bowl or fire basket extremely cosy, also in the winter you can have a lot of fun with it. For example, gather around the fire bowl or fire basket after an afternoon of hiking in nature or organize a Christmas drink around the fire with friends or family. Place some chairs around the fire bowl or fire basket, provide some treats such as marshmallows, mulled wine or just a refreshing beer, and hand out blankets to those who wish to make it extra cosy. The Jill is made of 2 mm thick corten steel, a high quality material with a brown rust color. This material is very popular nowadays, because it also gives a decorative touch to your garden. The corten steel fire pit has holes at the bottom for extra airflow and easy water drainage. The Jill fire basket can be left outside, so if it rains the water simply runs away through the holes. This corten steel fire pit has integrated handles making it very easy to move it before or after your fire pit session. To optimally protect the surface you can use the included stainless steel shelf which you can easily place under the fire basket. Are you not lighting your fire basket but you still want to enjoy a nice aperitif in the garden? No problem, transform the Jill into an aperitif table thanks to the shelf that can also easily be used as a top. The Jill fire basket has the following dimensions: 38 x 38 x 55 cm.

How do you light the Jill fire basket?

Lighting the Jill corten steel fire pit is very simple. First of all, it’s important to place the fire basket in a safe place with a flat surface, away from flammable objects. Once this is OK, the adventure can begin. First put some kindling and some Barbecook lighter cubes on the bottom of the fire basket and light them using the extra long matches or lighter. Then build a pyramid with about 5 logs. It’s best to work with pieces of beech or oak to create an even heat. Oak and beech burn for a long time and give beautiful flames. It’s important that your wood is dry. If this isn’t the case, the wood hisses in your fire, gives hardly any heat and causes dark smoke. Then make sure that the wind is right to stir up the fire in your fire basket. Also blow some air through your fire regularly. Under no circumstances use a liquid fuel such as methylated spirits; this is life-threatening. Once your fire is burning, the trick is to maintain it and keep it at the same temperature. You do this by adding logs in the places where it glows less.
